Centaur Stainless Steel Cheltenham Oval Mouth Gag

The Centaur Stainless Steel Cheltenham Oval Mouth Gag Bit is a traditional sliding cheek gag with a three piece mouthpiece for a more comfortable fit. The small center oval allows for better flexibility of the bit and less pressure on the tongue.

The Cheltenham Gag helps to lift the head and provides extra control, especially useful for jumpers and eventers. Special gag cheeks with a metal loop on the end run through the small holes in the bit ring. The reins attach to the metal loop and when pulled, the bit slides up in the horses mouth putting pressure on the lips and poll. It is recommended to use two reins, one on the bit ring and the other on the gag ring to avoid overusing the gag action of the bit. Each side of the bit is perfectly balanced to assure total comfort and response.
