EA Mattes Platinum Correction Half Pad w/Trim -Custom Sizes

The custom sizes EA Mattes Rear Trim Correction Half Pad with pockets for shims fits neatly under the saddle and can be used directly on the horse's back, or on top of a quilted pad that has a similar shaped top line. The Mattes Correction System is designed to enhance saddle fit as no pad can make a bad saddle fit, however, the correction pad will help maintain balance and straightness with horses that change form through the season, have asymmetries, or other similar situations.

The Mattes Correction Pad incorporates 4 pockets along the spine 2 front pockets and 2 rear pockets. The Poly-Flex shims (6 included) are 5mm thick, very resilient and do not bottom out like foam or other materials. They can be layered and easily trimmed with scissors to create a pressure free fit.

Made from high quality cotton/polyester blend quilted fabric for the outer layer, and soft plush natural sheekspin on the underside and for the rolls. This pad is fully lined with sheepskin that wraps around both the front and back, making soft rolls that sit perfectly around your saddle. The core of the half-pad is made of two layers: POLY-FLEX® (a deep-needled polyester felt) is used to maintain the shape and spread the pressure, while polyester wadding provides padding. We completely avoid foam, neoprene or gel, making the whole pad breathable.
E.A Mattes pads feature their SPINEFREE® design that reliably prevents any pressure around the withers and spine and secure SADDLE-FIX® system allows the top seam of the half-pad to sit neatly within the gullet of the saddle.

Mattes sheepskin should be dried thoroughly after each ride or at the end of each day. Let it air dry overnight, upside down and brush the wool with a stiff brush to loosen up and remove dirt and hair. The Mattes special detergent, MELP, is highly concentrated and designed for sheepskin products. Regular detergents can easily harden the leather and can render the wool brittle or matted. Machine washable on gentle cycle in cold water. Air fluff in dryer with no heat. Do not dry completely, while still damp gently pull into shape. Lay flat to finish drying. Do Not expose to sun or dry on a radiator. Do not use chlorine bleach!

Comes with 3 5 mm-thick felt shims (POLY-FLEX®) for each pocket, padded with wool and horsehair. MATTES developed the CORRECTION® System to allow flexible and easy changes to saddle fit by up to 30 mm: to easily compensate for the rapid physical development of young horses in training, for horses that have been out of work for some time, or for trained horses which change shape a lot during the competition season, whenever quick alterations are needed. Simply add extra shims, or just as importantly,
