EA Mattes Gold Square Pad

The E. A. Mattes GOLD Square Pad with Bare Flaps is made with the same design and high quality materials as the sheepskin pads, however instead of full sheepskin panels, the GOLD pads are made with high loft, dense, 1 1/4″ long wool on a fabric backing. The front and rear trim are still natural sheepskin. The GOLD pad fits neatly under the saddle and can be used directly on the horse's back, or on top of a quilted pad that has a similar shaped top line. You will get the same benefits either way.

MATTES uses high quality cotton/polyester blend quilted fabric. The numnah can also be made in hard-wearing velvet on request; special lustrous fibers are woven into the fabric to give a striking look while the thick layer of padding makes the quilted pattern really stand out. Both quilted fabric and velvet are available in a wide range of colors – you can design your pad yourself.

SPINEFREE^®design reliably prevents any pressure around the withers and spine. The secure SADDLE-FIX^® system allows the top seam of the pad to sit comfortably in the gullet of the saddle.

The core of the pad is made of two layers: POLY-FLEX^® (a deep-needled polyester felt) is used to maintain the shape and spread the pressure, while polyester wadding provides padding. Completely avoiding foam, neoprene or gel, making the whole pad breathable.

MELP is still recommended to use when washing thepad since the GOLD collection pads are still made partially with sheepskin.

Please notefor GOLD pads, the wool underside will be natural in color, even on black pads. The color of the Sheepskin rolls will match selected color.
