EA Mattes PM Half Pad with Rear Trim

The Mattes PM Half pad with Rear Trim is part of the Mattes PM System developed in conjunction with Peter Menet, designer of Amerigo and Vega saddles. The PM System Half Pads have all the same features and benefits of the original Mattes Half Pads, but the billet straps are replaced by a button hole on each side that goes completely through the pad. This allows the billet straps of a Mattes Quilt-Only or Light Flannel Pad to be fed through the button hole, making two pads into one unit. Made with 100% Natural Sheepskin.

The SPINEFREE^®design reliably prevents any pressure around the withers and spine. The secure SADDLE-FIX® system allows the top seam of the half-pad to be attached comfortably in the gullet of the saddle.

The core of the half-pad is made of two layers: POLY-FLEX® (a deep-needled polyester felt) is used to maintain the shape and spread the pressure, while polyester wadding provides padding. They completely avoid foam, neoprene or gel, making the whole pad breathable.
