beautiful but could be better

These boots are so beautiful. Unfortunately I ended up returning bc the way the elastic/gussets are designed it looks terrible on my leg. They have leather strips along the gusseting with the elastic in between so if you have a tight fit on the calf sizing, it's not going to look good.

These are my ABSOLUTE favorite boots that I wear everyday. I love the leather color contrast it is stylish and I receive compliments everywhere I go...even the grocery store! They fit me perfectly right out of the box and they break in easily with the softer leather.
Great boot! generous sizing for calf and foot bed.

I searched high and low for boots that would fit off the shelf before going custom, and these were the ticket! Still breaking them in, but each ride is more comfortable, the craftsmanship is great, and I've gotten multiple compliments on them. The foot bed is a touch generous - by about a half size. My calves measure a full short for any other boot, but measured a perfect regular/regular for mountain horse boots, which made finding sizes easier as well.

I was a bit hesitant to order these boots at first since everything says that they run large. I ordered a size 7, and while the footbed is narrow it is a touch big (in the length) for a 7. I normally wear a 7 to a 7 1/2. I think a size 6 would be too small, a 6 1/2 seems like it would be perfect but these don't come in half sizes, unfortunately.
I've only had the boots about a month so far, they seem to be breaking in well and softening up with each ride.
The spanish tops are flattering and sleek looking.
Looking forward to updating this review after I've had and worn the boots a bit longer!

2 pairs have lasted 4+ years. I have a brown and a black pair I can't even remember when I bought... they have held up so well. I do everything in them, often get them wet, school and show and I literally can't kill the things. I told myself I would treat myself to a new pair when my brown ones kicked it, but they're STILL holding on. Really good boots and have been nicer than some of my "higher end" boots. They do stretch and drop a bit, but for this many years I cant complain!
Shorter than size chart indicates

Have been wearing these 3 rides/week for about a month to break in and can now say these were not worth the trouble. They're pretty and have unique styling, but the size chart is all wrong and now I have boots that are too short and too loose. I ordered a size 6 short regular as my calves measured 16" tall by 14" around. When first worn out of the box all felt right. As they broke in, the boot shaft loosened considerably and felt very short, even with very slight drop at the ankle - not enough to see any visible creases. Measured from inside with the insole it came with the boots actually stand only 15 1/2" in the back and 15" in the front. Also, as other reviewers mentioned the foot part is very long and narrow so if you have remotely wide feet beware. To add insult to injury they leave black marks on my breeches I cannot get out in the wash. At least I can donate them to a local riding school.
