Helpfulness
Love these boots!
Sep 7, 2015
These are real wool fleece (except for the black boots with black "fleece" - the natural colored fleece is the woolback, the black fleece is synthetic), which I like both for its thick cushioning which gives great protection, and for its breathability and thermal regulation (doesn't build up so much heat beneath the boot). Also, these boots are not at all stiff like the economy boots, but very soft and "bendable" so they wrap softly and snugly around your horse's legs. They compare well to the Euro Pro Heidi/Askan boots - I like these better because they are actually somewhat thicker/softer, are real wool, and here at Adam's Horse Supplies, they are cheaper too! They hold up about as well as the Euro Pro's - my horse brushes his hind legs, so the stitches that hold the inside patch on the boot wear out eventually and when this happens I need to reinforce it with dental floss. These seem to hold up as long as the Euro Pro's before I need to do this.
Great boots

I switched to Valenas from DSBs a year or so ago. This was partly in frustration with how quickly the stitching on other boots could come apart, and how quickly they would wear. The Valenas are fantastic boots that I would highly highly recommend. They have lasted very well. What I like most about these boots is how much more supple they are, allowing for them to fit my horses legs perfectly. There is no stiffness from the day you get them. The lining hasn't matted at all (I do a quick brush out every day with a hair brush). Adams H&P has the best price too on them!
Young OTTB likes his Valena boots
Aug 25, 2015
My young OTTB has been wearing these while in training for the past 6 months and he really likes them. Soft, stretchy and conform well to the legs without excess bulk or heat. Purchased these in cream and also purchased a front set. The reason I rated 4 instead of 5 is because the stitching on the hind boots has not held up as well as the front. This is largely due to my boy figuring out what to do with his hind end - much ankle rubbing going on early in his training. The stitching on the lower portion of the boot reflects this. Would still recommend to others
These are lovely!

I just ordered these last week (along with the front boots as well), and I really want to thank you guys for shipping them to me quickly. They arrived on Tuesday via FedEx and I finally had the opportunity to use them last night and really, really like them! I love that they're sheepskin instead of fleece because they're so much easier to just brush off than the fleece boots I use for my horse's turnout. Plus, they're not as stiff as some brands and seem to conform to my horse's legs better. I really wanted sheepskin/wool boots for my horse instead of fleece because I just like the benefit of sheepskin over other products.
Of course it remains to be seen as to how well they hold up for the long haul, but I'm optimistic as I've heard good things about these boots in the past. Thanks, Adams!
