Herm Sprenger Bow Balance Stirrups put a new twist on the safety stirrup.

Bow Balance stirrups feature a unique design that "twists" the arms of the stirrup. This allows the stirrup to hang in a way that makes it easy for the rider to pick up with their foot and also allows the foot to easily release in the event of a fall.

Flexible in 4 directions, System 4 technology softens the impact on the rider's joints and ligaments without creating an unstable feeling. Two types of rubber are used in the tread to make it slip resistant and to further aid in shock absorption. The shape also changes the weight ratio, resulting in perfect balance and greater comfort.

All stirrups are marked left and right so that you can be sure they are correctly attached to the saddle to allow for the optimal leg position.

Advantages of the Sprenger Bow Balance Stirrup:

  • Bow shape allows for a comfortable and correct leg
  • Superb strength and enhanced security
  • Pivots in 4 directions simultaneously
  • Softens the impact on cartilage and ligaments
  • Tread with two types of rubber for a better grip
  • Wide tread for a perfect balance
  • Maximum comfort

Helpfulness
Saftey, Comfort, and Better Form !!!

Switched from Western to English - found Adams and told the sales person I had a torn meniscus so I needed saftey and comfort... She told me she had the same problem and now rides with these herself, I rolled my eyes to myself and thought, uh huh... They are pricey but I bought them and she was so right. This stirrup has a little flex but not sloppy. My knee pain disappears when I'm in these and something else she told me to expect: the curve actually contributes to a better position! These stirrups are worth every penny!

I have joint pain, have been using joined stirrups to help relieve some of the pains & pressures in the knees ankles and hips. After using some jointed stirrups, the pains were still there , I saw quite a few people using these stirrups at my barn, did some research on them, found reviews that stated they helped with the joint pains because of the HS construction, and found out they were a bit on the expensive side for a pair of stirrup irons, but if 98% of the reviews were excellent ,and they would make a sport I enjoy alot more comfortable then why wouldnt I ? I definately reccomment these irons to anyone who wants to be comfortable in the saddle with no joint pain, and of course when you are not in pain you will be able to focus more on riding , thus giving you a better position and a more comfortable ride!!! GREAT PRODUCT!!!!WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Comfortable, Secure Ride

Bought these for my 12 y.o. daughter who had been riding in regular $15 irons. We just invested in a new saddle, so I took the opportunity to upgrade her to safety stirrups. She has a QH with a tendency to, er, ACT OUT when he's feeling frustrated, bored, angry, frightened-- or any other thing. He can buck, spook, even rear (yes, but we love him). So, security in the saddle is a big thing for me (speaking as a mom watching the antics from the sidelines with nothing but my stoic expression and internalized fear for companions). She's been riding in these for a few weeks now, and here are our early opinions: first of all, she loves the look. Obviously. They're cool-looking. I love their flex and the big, thick grippy pads. These are key features for me. She hasn't lost a stirrup once in the time we've had them, even though our grumpy guy has acted out a few times, bless him. She also reports these are very easy to pick up at the trot and canter. Worth the money? Very possibly ...

I am not one to buy into hype about things like this. I have always just bought basic fillis stirrups and never liked the idea of offset, rotating, or safety stirrups of any kind. Call me a traditionalist. But after three separate serious injuries to my right ankle, and suffering in pain for months after the last injury, I finally decided to look into all the different types of higher end stirrups. This one got great reviews on a variety of websites, and after riding a horse with a jackhammer trot, whose owner had these stirrups on the saddle, I was pretty darned impressed. Not only do I have the bad ankle, but my horse has enormous movement. I decided to dive into the deep end and buy them. I can't decide if I am more overjoyed with how much it helped my ankle and my ability to sit his trot, or if I am more mad at myself for being such an old fuddy dud and not buying these sooner! Well, better late than never I suppose. Buy them. You will not regret it.
