The Korsteel JP Copper Oval Mouth Eggbutt bit has been designed to sit comfortably in your horses mouth. JP bits feature a curved mouthpiece which relieves tongue pressure, directing it to the bars and lips. Pressure to the tongue can cause tension as it can inhibit swallowing, relieving the tongue pressure can immediately help the horse to relax at the jaw and poll allowing them to be more supple through their entire body. The copper center link encourages salivation which further aids in bit acceptance. The three piece mouthpiece with center lozenge is one of the gentlest mouthpieces available. Because the lozenge is round instead of flat, there is a less pronounced ridge at the joints between the lozenge and outer mouthpiece. These joints (which are prominent on a french or flat link) can act as pressure points on the tongue causing discomfort. Lozenge bits can help to lessen or eliminate these pressure points for greater comfort.
