The Korsteel French Mouth 3 Ring Elevator Bit is a useful bit that can be used several different ways. The cheek of the bridle hooks to the small top ring. A single rein can then be attached to the large main bit ring making the bit function like a baucher (hanging cheek snaffle). As the rein is moved to the lower rings, the bit begins to act more and more like a gag bit. Gags pull the bit up and back in the horse's mouth putting pressure on the lips which can help to lift the horse's head. The bit can also be ridden with two reins allowing the rider to use it as a baucher with the option of the gag rein only when needed. The french link, three piece mouthpiece lies evenly across the mouth applying pressure to the tongue, bars and lips. This is a gentle mouthpiece well accepted by most horses.
