Korsteel Uxeter Kimberwicke Bit

The Korsteel Slotted Uxeter Kimberwick bit is a good choice for horses who are a little too strong in the snaffle. Kimberwick bits are also popular for children. The slotted cheeks of the uxeter kimberwick allow for two fixed rein placements. The upper slot will allow for the bit to be used as a mild curb with some poll pressure and some tightening of the curb chain. The bottom slot allows for greater poll pressure and faster engagement of the chain for greater control. The ported mullen mouthpiece (sometimes called a cambridge mouthpiece) applies pressure to the tonguen and lips. The port allows more room for the tongue which makes it more comfortable for some larger horses and can also allow the bit to sit lower and apply a bit of pressure to the bars of the mouth.
