The GreenGuard Grazing Muzzle is truly the most comfortable grazing muzzle on the market. It limits grass intake as much as a traditional basket muzzle, but is more comfortable, lighter, and cooler with a patented open design that allows for unrestricted breathing and drinking. Features of this revolutionary grazing muzzle includes:

- Optional – purchase a GreenGuard halter with noseband ring for easy attachment
Sizing info:
- Horse size typically fits a horse that wears 5 to 6 inch bit
- Pony size typically fits a pony that wears a 4 ¼ to 4 ¾ inch bit
- Mini size typically fits a very small pony or donkey that wears a 3 ½ to 4 inch bit
NEW! If you are concerned about tooth wear, GreenGuard has introduced optional muzzle inserts which can help reduce tooth wear. Options include:

- Diet inserts made of a synthetic material. Note: Be sure your horse is comfortable wearing the muzzle without the diet insert first. The diet insert is VERY restrictive and should only be used for short periods. Click here for more information.

Safety Notes:
- Be sure to use a breakaway halter for turnout
- Be sure your horse can fit his nose in water vessel for drinking
- Do not leave muzzle on 24/7 if possible – give your horse a break. If your horse wears it for extended time periods, check frequently for rubbing
- Follow fitting instructions carefully – there should be a 1-inch gap between muzzle and horses nose
- Keep an eye out for excessive incisor wear which may happen if your muzzle is fitted too close or your grass to short

Best Grazing Muzzle Ever!

I love this grazing muzzle. This is the 5th Greenguard muzzle I have purchased. I have had them on all 4 of my mini ponies for the past 3 yrs. I now have a horse that has cushings and needs a muzzle. I love the idea of the "diet" insert which is perfect for equines with cushings. I did purchase the leather insert for my minis to protect their teeth. Wonderful product! Definitely recommend!
Green Guard muzzles are life savers.

This type of grazing muzzle is literally saving my horse (from founder; overweight; who knows). I had one go for three years pretty constant use before it wore out.
The halter with a front strap from between the ears to the muzzle helps them stay on with 'difficult' horses.
Best muzzle I've used.

I started our mare in Best Friends with gigantic hole. Once she finally figured it out, she had no trouble switching to this muzzle. They do an amazing job of limiting intake but not TOO limited.
Her pasture buddy is on his second year in his.
Not enough restrictions

I like the muzzle but I found myself putting duct tape to further restrict my mare from eating grass. The holes don’t restrict as well as other muzzles and the straps broke from the muzzle within a month. I wish there was a better design.
Total waste of money

Was super excited to try this muzzle as it looks way more breathable and "friendly" than most other competitors. I decided not to purchase the special halter to pair but read that you can use a regular breakaway halter so I purchased that. I have been using it for 7 days now. Within 2 days one of the leather muzzle straps had broken. I have also been to the pasture 4 times to find the muzzle INSIDE MY HORSES MOUTH! I have had to tighten it beyond the 1" from the mouth recommendation or else it gets caught inside her mouth. The muzzle is not fixed to anything (the straps help hold the sides but not the front and back) and it ultimately slides around. In a nutshell, I found this WAY OVERPRICED, poorly designed and also dangerous.
The Best Muzzle on Market

My IR horse would not accept the Best Friend basket style muzzle. She would literally freak out and panic. She was very relaxed in this one and the Flexible Filly Muzzle. I would prefer the Flexible Filly Muzzle for overall comfort and safety for her teeth, but she would cheat in the tall grass and get grass out the side of the muzzle. Since she foundered once, I couldn't take the chance of her getting too much grass. This muzzle is the best for comfort and safety in my opinion.
